How does the MLB team randomizer work?
The default draw is the modern-league board: MLB’s wheel-approved clubs, each represented by its latest indexed span. All eras widens the barrel to the nineteenth century, Negro Leagues, relocations and every archived club window. Whichever scope you use, the result carries its city, years and archive file, and the lineup draft below stays untouched.
How far back do the eras go?
Into the nineteenth century and forward to the current game, including the recognised Negro Leagues. Clubs appear as a city and a span of years, taken from the public record.
Do I get pitchers as well as hitters?
Both, and you need both. A random era gives you the whole squad to pick from, and a lineup with no rotation behind it loses games all summer.
Can I keep spinning?
Yes. It is a tool rather than a daily board, so you can spin until an era interests you and nothing is used up.
Does it cost anything?
No. It plays in the browser with no account and no download.
Is this a MLB team wheel, a spinner or a generator?

How far back does the MLB side of this site go?
To 1871 — the deepest archive here by half a century. All eras puts deadball clubs, relocated lines and modern teams into the same repeatable draw.
Where do the MLB numbers and honours come from?
Public records: the hitting or pitching line that season produced, with Gold Gloves, All-Star selections and league-leading finishes. No ratings anywhere.
What happens after the MLB randomizer lands?
The era receipt stays visible and the reel becomes Spin again. It does not open a lineup or rotation; those seats belong to the separate all-time draft below.
What makes a random MLB team good or bad on the board?
The era does most of it and the run environment does the rest. A staff from a low-scoring decade and one from a high-scoring decade post completely different lines while being equally good, and rating each against its own year is what keeps that honest.
Does a random MLB team come with any all-time greats?
355 are recorded, but a randomizer landing does not turn into a player recommendation. Player seasons stay in the separate lineup-and-rotation draft below.
